CDARS... The Convenient Way to Protect Large Deposits with FDIC Insurance.

CDARS is a deposit placement service whose time has come. With CDARS (Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service), you can protect your deposit with FDIC coverage regardless of its size right here at Savings Institute Bank & Trust. Here's how it works:

  • You meet with an SIBT representative and choose an interest rate and maturity date (from 4 weeks to 5 years) that meets your investment objectives.
  • You deposit the funds with SIBT and SIBT in turn submits the funds to insured banks in the CDARS network.
  • Those member banks then issue CDs to you in denominations under the FDIC coverage limit.
Even though you hold multiple accounts, you still work with just one bank, Savings Institute Bank & Trust. You enjoy the convenience of:
  • One Bank
  • One Rate
  • One Monthly Statement

Everyone benefits… individual investors, public fund managers, non-profits, fiduciaries and businesses. Everyone enjoys the peace of mind FDIC insurance provides, regardless the size of the overall deposit.

Certificates of Deposit are time deposit accounts with fixed maturity dates. Interest rates and annual percentage yields earned on the account are determined by the date the account is opened and the term selected. CDs are designed for people who want to maximize the return of their funds without immediate access to the money in the account.

Annual percentage yields assume that principal and interest remain on deposit for the full term at the quoted interest rate. Early withdrawal penalties can apply if any portion of the principal is withdrawn prior to maturity; however, interest earned on the account may be withdrawn at any time without penalty.

*Minimum balance required to open a CD account.
